In a small village in Jhapa, Nepal, families are torn apart when either or both parents must go abroad to find work.  A Villager's Hand is building a sewing center in the village to provide employment for women so they can earn sustainable, fair trade income.  The building is already underway, and in November 2019, we will open the center.  We need help to provide sewing machines, tables and chairs, lamps, fabric and sewing notions to get them started.  Please consider a donation to help us get everything they need to begin the sewing center.  The women in this village were asked to come up with a name for their business, and they have chosen "Maya," which means "beloved."

Update from 9/8/2019

Our sewing center is almost built, and in two short months, we will be opening! We still need tables, chairs, fabric, sewing notions, and lamps to get to work! A volunteer fashion designer has almost completed the patterns for three different clothing articles that the women will start with. Now I'm offering the first five donors one of the first items the women will sew, as our way of saying "thank you!"
